MASW Testing
MASW Testing, or Multi-Channel Analysis of Surface Waves is a Seismic test method that uses Surficial Rayleigh Waves to estimate a Shear Wave Velocity profile at a particular site. The data is collected by experienced CME staff at grade surface, using state of the art equipment and software, without the need of a cased borehole. Once the Shear Wave profile is generated, a Seismic Site Class is calculated in accordance with the procedure specified in the current New York State Building Code.

When MASW testing results indicate borderline site class, a more expensive Down Hole Shear Wave Velocity Test may be in order. CME provides Down Hole Shear Wave Velocity Tests, also.
