Down Hole Shear Wave Velocity Testing

CME’s experienced staff can provide Down Hole Seismic Testing in a cased borehole to determine the geo physical properties of the soil at the site in question. Sensors are lowered down a cased borehole to various depths, and a Seismic event is created at the surface, such as by hitting a steel plate with a hammer. The sensors measure P (compression) and S (Shear) wave travel times through the profile. From there, a Shear Wave profile is created, and a Seismic Site Class is calculated.
